Using Physical Matter to Enhance Memory

Here’s an example.

Suppose you are trying to memorize a keyboard shortcut to open document properties.

The shortcut is shift+ctrl+d. You could just say to yourself what it is, but you’ll probably have better retention if you actually look at the keyboard, place your fingers on it, and watch where you are placing your fingers.

It also helps if you know where the keys are without even having to look at the keyboard.

And since the word Document has a d in it, that will probably help as well.

I’m sure you’ll discover more tricks as you explore your thought patterns.
